Unga Group Energy Transition Launch

Kenya's largest flour miller switches from HFO to biomass — permanently.

Lean Energy commissioned a state-of-the-art 6 TPH biomass steam system for Unga Group, replacing two heavy fuel oil boilers. The event was attended by Unga board members, plant engineers, and the full Lean Energy delivery team. The system has delivered a 42% reduction in fuel costs from day one.

Unilever Kenya Biomass Commissioning

Unilever Kenya goes fossil-free with an 8 TPH biomass boiler system.

A landmark commissioning event for Unilever Kenya's new 8 TPH biomass boiler system. The turnkey installation replaced two HFO boilers and brought the factory to net-zero steam generation. The project is projected to save Unilever Kenya over KES 60 million annually in fuel costs while eliminating heavy fuel oil from the facility entirely.
